Description

A pair of superb 100 % hand woven cotton on hemp/linen bed sheets. This amazing textile is originated from Northern Transylvania and hand woven in a traditional loom (homespun antique textile) more than 50 years ago. Because a traditional loom is narrow the bed sheet is made of 3 panels of hand woven fabric sewn together. On one side the bed sheet has a lace border hand crocheted in cotton. On the same side it has hand embroidery in multicolored acrylic thread.
The weaving is amazing, strong, beautiful with an wonderful geometrical pattern in its texture. The technique used to produce these textiles with motifs which stand out in reliefs is one of the oldest and complex weaving technique called weaving over the threads. The weaving is hand made weaving 3 threads (3 ite).
Condition: great condition no holes or stains, very gentle used and kept in a dowry chest for years. Clean and ready to be used.
Size: 1, 95 meters x 1, 47 meters (without the lace border which have 22 cm) or 6. 4 ft x 4. 82 ft (without the lace border which have 8. 66 inches)
