    A gift of love
Exquisite vintage ring with 2.00 ct diamonds in platinum, Belgium, dated 1957
    description
In the 1950s, with the economic miracle, Europe experienced a previously unseen increase in wealth and quality of life. After the worries of the war years, the shop displays shone in a new luxury, and, last but not least, jewelry and watches also served to visibly show the new zest for life to the outside world. The style of jewelry of these years was often based on the late Art Déco , as it had been developed since the 1920s and continued to determine the designs of the large goldsmiths, especially in the USA and France: rich furnishings, clear geometry and an exuberant sparkle of the high-quality Gemstones dominated the picture. A jewel typical of this era is also the present ring, which can be dated to 1957 through an engraving. The piece of jewelry is made of platinum and white gold and presents a sparkling set of diamonds, arranged in the form of a stylized flower. The design groups sixteen brilliant-cut diamonds around a one-carat transition cut. The stones are set in airy claw settings, which improves their shine with more light from the side. The brilliant shine of the opulent ring head is structured and at the same time ennobled by the rigor of the goldsmith's work. According to the stamp, the ring was made in Belgium. It is certainly no coincidence that it presents a lavish set of diamonds, as Antwerp in Belgium has been the center of the European diamond trade and diamond cutting industry for centuries. The design language of the ring from the 1950s is modern and geometric, elegant and clear. He came to us here in Berlin. A beautifully designed vintage diamond ring with class!

    about us
    Hofer antique jewelry
arose from the joy of beautiful things. It all started with my grandma, who was a lady who liked to adorn herself. She could tell something about each of her pieces of jewelery and when she opened her jewelery box, a world opened up: fond memories and touching stories connected with the pieces marked the highlights of a lived life. Based on these experiences, over the years a passion grew in me to deal with these small and always very personal objects.
